Ericka Juarez, PH.D.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working with adolescents and adult populations with a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety disorders, psychosis, major depression, trauma, and personality disorders. I also have over 20 years of correctional experience which has given me the flexibility and experience to work with a wide variety of comorbid diagnosis.
Through the years I have become aware of the importance of utilizing a holistic approach to treatment. I believe we all have access to our best self and are our own best healers. I view my role as guiding each individual in learning to trust their ability to make the necessary changes to access and create their best version of themselves. In sessions, I address your presenting symptoms but also aim to identify the underlying factors that contribute to your symptoms such as daily routines, behaviors, core beliefs, and nutrition. I believe that understanding the connection between the mind and body is crucial. One cannot treat one without the other.
I do not subscribe or utilize a specific psychological approach, rather I use a variety of techniques such CBT, Psychodynamic, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems and alternative therapies. I believe that each individual is unique, and treatment must be individualized.
My goal is to empower each individual and teach them how to practice self-awareness. Self-awareness allows us to be in tune with our feelings and make the needed adjustments in our day to care for ourselves. My belief is that the goal of therapy is not to necessarily eliminate our stressors or emotional distress. Rather, to learn how to compassionately navigate through life supporting ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Therapy is a partnership where I work collaboratively with each individual to identify and establish an improved overall experience in their day-to-day life.
