Jasreet Dhillon (Doctoral Trainee)

Jasreet Dhillon is a doctoral trainee pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and is a first-generation Punjabi student in her family to pursue post-secondary education. Jasreet is fluent in Punjabi and can speak, read, and write the language, which contributes to her commitment to providing culturally responsive and accessible mental health care.

Jasreet is passionate about helping individuals better understand themselves, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped the way they move through the world. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, relationships and family concerns, identity development, and the influence of cultural and intergenerational experiences on emotional well-being. In her work with clients, Jasreet values building a genuine and trusting therapeutic relationship where individuals can feel comfortable being themselves and speaking openly about difficult experiences. Her developing clinical approach is collaborative and culturally responsive, with an emphasis on helping clients recognize patterns in their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors, and on developing greater insight and practical coping with life’s challenges.

As a first-generation Punjabi woman pursuing higher education in psychology, Jasreet is especially passionate about reducing stigma surrounding mental health care within culturally diverse communities. She hopes to help bridge cultural and generational gaps in conversations about mental health while empowering individuals to seek support, deepen their understanding of themselves, and build meaningful, authentic lives.

Jasreet is directly supervised by Dr. Tracy Mason (PSY20438)
